TOPIC: WAR OF 1812 BARRACKS AND HOSPITAL CANTONMENT

J. A. BUSCAGLIA, author of three books, "Finding Jonas Williams", "Williamsville and the War of 1812", and "Ancient Forts, Mounds and Burial Grounds in WNY", was born and raised in Western NY. His fascination with local history led him to research the stories of early pioneers and the War of 1812.
Joe's research focuses on military activities around Williamsville during the War of 1812, particularly the Hospital Cantonment and soldiers' huts. He has identified the site near present-day Lehn Springs Development, just outside the village of Williamsville.
Joe has also investigated the Rifle & Artillery Cantonments along Ellicott Creek and documented the War of 1812 Cemetery in Cheektowaga, known as the Garrison Cemetery, which holds the graves of soldiers who died in an American military hospital during the war.
